About Dreamers Child Care and Day Care Center

At Dreamers, we provide a safe, multicultural, nurturing environment geared toward the educational, emotional and social development of children. We believe that children are born learners, and that they learn best through exploration and experience. As educators, we strive to provide quality, creative and fun activities to assist children in exploring and understanding their world. We believe and know that children do not simply need an educational or curricular upbringing, but that they must also be taught crucial life and practical skills to continue to succeed and excel in the many years to come. Children in our care are taught these life skills that they will continue to use throughout their lifetime, such as problem solving and decision making, good health and hygiene skills, confidence and self-reliance, and etcetera.

Exposure to different cultures and lifestyles at an early age also promotes tolerance even while they are still very young, and we strive to ensure this is readily available in an effective manner every day. Fair play is also an important component of early childhood education. Respect for others, sharing, honesty and cooperation is role modeled by our staff and incorporated into the day-to-day activities, and bullying is never tolerated.

Teaching language, specifically Arabic, is also a key component of our program philosophy. Not only does learning a second (or third!) language allow the child to speak and understand that language, but research has shown that learning a second language boosts problem-solving, critical-thinking, and listening skills, in addition to improving memory, concentration, and the ability to multitask. Children proficient in other languages also show signs of enhanced creativity and mental flexibility. Our children are exposed to the Arabic language as early as infancy through communication from the teachers and elements in their environment, and this continues through to preschool where Arabic becomes a key component of the curriculum and children are taught to read, write and communicate Arabic numbers, letters, words and eventually phrases.
